Aston Martin has confirmed it will once again make a Lagonda super-saloon - but only for Middle Eastern markets. The details of Aston’s secret plans to resurrect its luxurious nameplate for a small production run of luxury saloons were revealed in the July 2014 issue of CAR following our spy photographer captured a wedgy four-door saloon testing on the roads around Aston Martin’s Gaydon HQ in Warwickshire. The mule we snapped, like the production car set to arrive in 2015, is based on Aston’s familiar VH architecture that underpins the four-door Aston Martin Rapide.
Ferrari will offer its first gasoline-electric hybrid system in 2013. The technology will be featured in the as-yet-unnamed car that will replace the limited-edition Enzo. "We are entering the market with our Formula One-derived hybrid system, which will slash fuel consumption and increase performance," Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa told Automotive News Europe on the sidelines of the Beijing motor show.
The Ford Focus BEV Proitotype has been revealed at Frankfurt
Ford are intent on bringing an electric car to the market as soon as possible, and intend starting trials of the Focus BEV in the New Year. The Focus BEV has been developed to participate in the ‘Ultra Low Carbon Vehicles’ ( a real misnomer) demonstration next year. The Focus BEV is driven by a 100KW electric motor which is powered by a 23kwh lithium-ion battery pack developed by Vauxhall’s new owner, Magna.
